One Small Area at a Time - A Mother's Day Gift

Does your Mom have a clutter problem?  If so, Mother's Day may be a great opportunity to assist her with clearing some it away.  You don't have to do it all in one day.  Here are a few tips to help her get started and make it a great and productive day for all.
  • Gather the children and have them help you clean one room of Mom's home. I guarantee that she will appreciate it more than the flowers you thought about getting her.
  • Get Mom to commit to donating just one box of items to a charity (Salvation Army, Good Will Industries or the Red Cross).  This will help someone in need while simultaneously helping Mom get rid of the clutter in a small area.
  • Help Mom clear a bookshelf and make sure to leave a little space for more items later.
  • Go though all her old magazines and help her purge the antiquated volumes.  There are lots of organizations that appreciate old reading materials such as nursing homes.
I hope these ideas help you make a great day for your Mom.

Happy Mothers Day to All!!

  1. I recently cleaned up part of my garage with my soulmate. The "letting go" of things that were being saved for "just in case" was very liberating. I hope more people get this leberating feeling by letting go of junk, and making new memories.
